Troyer gourds are hard to beat, as are their gourd racks. I would encourage anyone who has the skill set, to build their own gourd rack. You can install a much stronger pole than you can buy from due to weight and size restraints when it comes to shipping the poles. My newest racks will use 3" square tubing with 1/4" thick walls for poles. I have some 2" SCH 40 galvanized pipe for poles too, but it sways too much in the wind for my liking. I prefer the Troyer Vertical gourds to the horizontals, because they have more "attic" space, allowing more heat to rise and escape from the gourd. If you order a gourd rack from Troyer, upsize to the 3" pole.
