I’m taking some vacation Wednesday-Friday and Monday and Tuesday maybe be able to close on one or two. But the storm that rolled through last night blowed 3-4 trees down in my backyard a couple were huge pines so no afternoon hunts till cleaned up.

I screwed it up this morning. Was set up on one gobbling good and heard footsteps behind me. I turned around intending to scare off his hens that were going to him and was eye to eye with two big gobblers. They spooked and ran and the one I was hunting shut up. I am a complete failure, and I have the rest of the day to contemplate my life choices. You didn’t need that bird anyways, y’all already have this thing in the bag.

I turned around intending to scare off his hens that were going to him and was eye to eye with two big gobblers. They spooked and ran and the one I was hunting shut up. I am a complete failure, and I have the rest of the day to contemplate my life choices. You didn’t need that bird anyways, y’all already have this thing in the bag. I might not need him, but I sure want him bad!!

Congrats on the kills fellas.
I had a good weekend and got us a few points.
No luck messing with a henned up bird Saturday morning but put one in my gf's lap Sunday morning and she missed. He didn't run fast enough and I didn't miss!

Well, I was reminded of how dumb I am yesterday. I should have killed 2 different birds yesterday, but... I just kept making stupid mistakes that cost me. I'll try and do better next trip.

I am gonna try to get back out on Saturday. Trying to wait for all the 1st week or two hunters to give up at the club after they jack up all the birds.

Boys they are whipping my tail. Heard 7 this morning set up on one in a swamp he flew down gobbled 3 times going straight away from me. I’ve had 3 different birds close enough to listen to them drum and haven’t laid eyes on one yet. Maybe next time. Good luck fellas

Got another one. Funny story is that I have my phone in one hand watching the radar. Plan is to jump in the truck and let one yellow cell of rain blow over. Owl one last time before heading to the truck and hear a gobble. Decide to get in a shooting house closer to the gobble. Starts a light rain and I see the turkey hit the power line about 400 yards and go the other way. I can’t stand it and called to him. He immediately reverses and heads my way. Look at the radar again and think I can make it. Ha! Shot him with rain running down the crack of my butt and off my hat bill.
