My wife bought a Henry Golden Boy for me as a wedding gift, I wouldn't consider it a safe queen but it doesn't see daylight much at all. Also have my dads 10-22 Ruger that means a good deal to me, but its my go to when I need a .22

No safe queens but a few sentimental guns that will never be sold. If it's too pretty to use I don't need it.

When I was planning my 2022 safari to Namibia, I needed to scrape up the funds so I sold most of my “Safe Queens”. I sold two Super Match M1A’s for over $2000 each. I sold a Savage 99F in .300 Savage for $900 and a NIB Ruger Red Label 20 guage for $1400. I also sold over $1000 worth of Sierra Match King bullets, since I don’t reload any more. Of my remaining guns, the one I shoot the least is an Anschutz 1407 target rifle with a Redfield 6X18 scope on it. I bought it in 1972 for $250 and the iron sights alone go for over $250. Comparable Anschutz rifles go for over $2000 today.

Papaw's Browning SA .22 takedown rifle. Not a scratch on it. Maybe a small box of shells shot thru it.

I dont have any true safe queens, to me guns are tools and sometimes art that are meant to be used and enjoyed. That said, I have guns that are less often used or handled with special care.
My "special care" guns are
-My Grandfathers Remington 700 BDL, beautiful shape, with custom engraving for him. The rifle was presented to him at his retirement from Columbia Forest Products.
-BRNO 22F in 7x64 Brenneke its pristine and in a rare caliber, barrel length and stock configuration so I doubt I'd ever be able to find another one.
-Ugartechea Model 1000 SxS, 28 gauge with factory 2 barrel set (24" open chokes and 26" IC/Mod) I couldnt afford to buy another one so Im careful about this one, but it gets hunted with!
-Winchester 1892 (built in 1894) in 38-40 (in my family since new)
-Winchester 1907 (built in 1908) in 351 wsl (in my family since new)
I find myself just not shooting some much, for no particular reason. I don't think any of these have been out of the safe in years!

I use to have a lot until I took a stack of them to Hoover Tactical to sell on consignment the other week. When they sit in the safe and just multiply never being used it’s time to sell. My problem with them is being too pretty to use so I never shot them. Belgium Brownings, West German Sigs, Colts, etc. Many many beautiful guns out there, I just finally realized no need in me trying to have one of everything.
I still have probably 10 more I need to sell to free up space. Once I get around to looking them up I will post in the classifieds.

I saw hallb's post and it got me to thinking about it. Mine is my Granddaddy's Browning Auto 5 Light 12 vent Belgium made. With my grandmothers social security number that she scrolled/horribly etched into the metal behind the trigger.
Pretty, much the same as yours except mine was the wedding gift from my mother-in-law to father-in-law in 1957. I also have teh manual that came with it. I also have a Hi-Power and Performance Center 629 that have never been fired. I hope this country will allow them to be my grandson's some day.

None are safe queens but I have a couple that get handled with kid gloves. Two were custom guns made for my father by a man named Graham Bostick who was a friend of my father.
One is a 35 Whelen AI built on an Interarms Mark X action with a beautiful fiddleback walnut stock.
The other is a 300 Winchester Magnum built on a 1948 M70 Winchester action. The wood is an incredible feather crotch walnut that is as sleek and slim as I've ever handled. You can't get a stock that fits like this on any factory rifle. My father took this gun on an African safari and it was a special moment for me when I shot a deer with it several years after he died. I'd love to see these 2

Got a limited browning bar stainless with the gold inlays in 308. Never fired a round trough it. I’ve seen them go thousands more than I paid for it. It will likely be a wall piece until it’s handed down. Also got an old B78 I have shot it at the range but never hunted with it either

This is a bad thread for me. Dad has terminal bone cancer. He will be here 3 months or 3 years, dunno. Just got a Man's gun life handed to me and my BIL. My safe queen is a 16ga Stevens I killed my first animal with when I was 8 and it looks like chit. Will never go anywhere other than to my Son. The next is a Ruger No. 1 .270 sporter that has wood like a K32 would have. I will kill a deer with it one day.........................................

Mine would be a 870 Wingmaster that my dad sold to buy me a trumpet while I was in HS in the early 80's. I had the serial number saved from the gun and found it about 15 years ago and purchased it back for him. I gave it back to him on what ended up being the last goose hunting trip we had together before he passed. It's a pretty common gun but one that I could never replace.

I also have my Papa's Browning Belgium Auto 5, that my Dad bought him in the 40's. Still shoots great.
For my 16th Birthday, my Dad gave me his Belgium Browning Grade 1 22 rifle. The one you load through the butt stock. He bought it in the 60's and we hunted together with it when I was a kid. It doesn’t leave the safe very often.

I guess mine would be a Browning SA 22
It has no serial number and is a grade one rifle with grade 4 stocks
This according to the Browning historian is a war trophy that was brought home by one of our soldiers
He said the rifle was rushed through and they put anything in/on it they had to get it out the door before the nazi’s made it there
And it didn’t make it out the door
It is truly a beautiful rifle

The most prized possession I have is an old High Standard Sentinel 22 that belonged to my dad. It’s the first handgun I ever shot, and I still remember us in the woods shooting, him teaching me how, etc. I’d gouge the eyes out of a grizzly before I gave that old revolver up. Is it a safe queen? Yes, to me it is the ultimate safe queen. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!
