On my way to south Florida…I’m flying while my buddy and his wife are driving from Nebraska. We have been planning this for years and it’s finally here. We will be hunting private near Sarasota and lake okeechobee for the first three days then going to another property near Immokalee, FL. No, not guided but 3 different private ranches we are hunting. Will be repping some Phillips Kustomz Tss shells thanks to my buddy Coosa, and the Stoney Brock call he just sent me. I’ve never been really down here so looking forward to it! My wife is 35 weeks pregnant so praying our baby keeps behaving while I’m here. We are going for 4 birds total between the two of us so maybe with the good Lord’s will we can find a dumb one or 4 😂 Will give updates and pictures of the trip.

My wife was originally coming to go on the beach with my buddy’s wife but we found out she was preggo as it came sooner than we thought she would be. She is staying at home unfortunately due to her being so far along so will have to make it up to her in the future. Just praying her doc visit Monday goes well…if it does, I’ll keep hunting. If not, I’m immediately flying back.

Did you go through an outfitter or just know someone? I’ve got a manager that started here at work about a year ago. He moved here from pompano beach and he’s checking with some people he knows for me. If he finds something, I may be going down there the first week of April. Long shot though.

Man long story short…breaking it up into 3 days at one ranch and 3 at the next. My buddy and I from Nebraska have been talking about it for years. Then said with my residency and kids it had to be this year we would try to do it. We are trading 2 birds for 2 with a guy that I talked with from trips for trade. Then I called one of my med school buddies from there ti see if his dad would be willing to do the same at a different ranch. This I’m just the caller but get two birds out of it Lord willing.
