Service provider maybe but fiber is fiber. If it’s glitchy something isn’t right.

Wrong, current wireless technology can't provide the bandwidth. will change; but not there yet.

They told me mine would slow down when everyone on but works fine so far . Had it 3 months . When they more satellites up suppose go down to $90 a month . 5 peices hook to it no problem.

I was paying $90/mo for fiber in Spanish Fort. Moved to North Alabama and fiber was not available, they tried to keep me at $90/mo, but I pushed back and got it to $60/mo.

Then Verizon offered me a router that uses cell service for WiFi. We have 5G and they said it would be $25/mo for 10 years.

I trialed it for a month (streamed football games and kids shows simultaneously to see if I could notice a difference, also worked from home a bit). Didn't see any difference so we cancelled ATT.

But, if fiber ever becomes available I might re-evaluate.

You appear to agree internet is going wireless yet you state that "internet is going wireless" is wrong. Did I ever tell you the one about the 1/3 pound burger?

No; I said the technology is not there yet to match bandwidth capability of fiber transport. But; it will get there.

Wireless is ok until you get a drizzle and then you’re reading a book. At least with T Mobile which was pretty much my only option living in the woods other than Hughes Net . Just got the notice Pea River is stringing fiber optic and I am thrilled.

People being thrilled is why they're spending your tax dollars on a public work. That and handing out piles of cash to friends in utilities feeding at the government teat. Spending it to subsidize cell towers would be more effective but not as efficient at buying votes and conditioning people to more socialism.

Would love to go all wireless; contractor herd of Mexicans just made a phuckin' mess of our neighborhood. Got 4 new speed bumps where they crossed the street. Arrive at my house to find some black dude walking out the gate from the courtyard beside my house. " What are you doing back there without knocking on my door , dude?" I told him; do NOT do that again. Told him I had a dog; "well, I whistled?" Good grief, no respect for privacy.

I could have typed this post last fall.

Will add that I circled the sprinkler heads and sprayed a general line where the underground dog fence and irrigation lines were but guess what…

Pro tip…when your lines get cut, they’re going to assign you an adjuster from Sedgwick. Go online and find a generic invoice and bill yourself for time, labor, inconvenience, parts and sod. Don’t be stingy with. They won’t blink in cutting you a check for $425. Is factored in I guess with the cheap labor they’re getting.

This^^^

We’ve had Att fiber going on 5 years and it’s the best internet service we’ve had.

Our ATT fiber has been great. Can't even compare it to the Hughes Net Satellite we had to use for years... Can't say a single thing good about that.
