whats there to down there?
me and the fam may have an opportunity to drive down there for a really good baseball experience July 11-15th for my son (2023 Perfect Game 10U Series Classic) there will be kids from the U.S., Puerto Rico, Czech Republic, Germany, Venezuela, Bahamas, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic attending this event.
this is a 5 day / 5 game guarantee event so not sure exactly how much free time we will have.

My daughter did her internship down there in Cape Coral. We really liked it. Some of the best Tarpon fishing in the world. Other than that it is just a nice beach experience.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Ft. Myers itself or Captiva or Sanibel Islands? Remember, the place got hit hard last year, so I'm not sure of the beach experience right now. I do know that 75 is three lanes of left lane drivers and plenty of 18-wheelers.

That's a long ways for 8 and 9 yr old baseball. Like all beaches I am sure it's pretty with some great food

I enjoyed touring the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford winter estates and laboratory down there. It’s been 20 years but I still remember the Banyan tree. It was 2 inches in diameter when Edison planted it in 1925 and the canopy perimeter is now about 400 feet. Harvey Firestone gave it to Edison while they were researching rubber trees.

Lots of beer to drink down that way but I don't guess your 9yo is in to that very much. My oldest brother's best friend lived there for several years and could put away more of it than anyone I've ever met. 😀

Perfect Game you will play 1 game a day until bracket play starts so you will have a morning or afternoon free. And they usually split it up so you don’t have all mornings or afternoons.

Id be just happy if the ocean dried up and the sand turned to grass

Set up a guided trip to the Peace river and hunt for shark’s teeth and other fossils. I took my son to perfect game years ago and we found plenty of time to fish.

I was going to say something about finding sharks teeth . My father in law use to winter in Venice and you could walk the beaches and find sharks teeth . Fossilized, they are black and pretty easy to see if you get into an area they are . If you don’t like the beach then you might not want to do that one .
