If you don't already have the Waze app downloaded, do so and use it for your navigation. It will let you know if there are accidents, etc and change the route up to go around when possible.

I hate it’s page 4 before I opened this up. Jake my sister-n-law is up for the weekend. She’s beautiful, has two kids under 18, and is friendly. Could save you a lot of money and time. You’re more than welcome to take her back and keep her…. You could drive through Bankhead National Forest on your way down and see the beautiful wooded mountains, and maybe drive back through the beautiful Tennessee valley. I really wouldn’t mind if you took her out west with you…

Well don't get dissapionted if it don't work out when you show up, its gonna be hard to live up to the expectations of this girl after 20 years of lost love and a drive across the country. she's thinking its gonna be some hallmark channel hunk while your still thinking aldeer hump day thread material.

Go get her. I dated my now wife of 42 years for 6 months and then dumped her badly the week before Valentine’s Day because I realized I actually cared about her, really cared about her. At that point in life I was not the least bit interested in caring about the girls I dated, they were for fun. Anyway for two years I did not meet a girl that even peaked my interest and the last year of it I did it even date because it became clear how bad I screwed up with her. Nobody else compared and I was around a lot of very eligible females at the time. Anyway through the most unlikely set of circumstances you can imagine after 2 years of no contact we were put in very close contact for a Christmas holiday. The first couple of days we kinda circled each other but two nights before Christmas we found ourselves alone on a couch after everyone else had gone to bed and as they say, the rest is history. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. If she has been on your mind that long she might be “the one”.Mine sure was.

Phoenix in 2 days is doable, I would not recommend trying to do it in a day. I’ve done Stevenson to Phoenix 1 time and took 2 days, wasn’t a terrible drive. Done Stevenson to CA more times than I can count. Like many have said past Amarillo there’s not much and night time in the desert will put a man to sleep. X-ray tech I knew fell asleep and wrecked in middle of nowhere NM and killed her. She was making the drive back home from a travel contract in CA.

22 to 24 hour trip. Download waze app, it's real helpful but I'd fly out anyway.

You should sue Hallmark for stealing the rights to your movie script.

For the OP, go do the dang thing man. Worst case scenario you get to go see the best part of the US. I love the south, heck I love the place I live in the sticks of SC. But it’s a different place out west. You need to at least go see it. If it pans out and you guys live happily ever after then that is awesome. If not you’ll never regret the travels there and back.

I'll give this bit of advise . No matter what we say , you gonna go we aint gonna change that .

If in six months you two ain't together in the same house ,,,,,, end it . Walk away any thing after that you wasting your time , money and life .

If not you dont 5 or 10 years from now you'll say ,,, damn , I wish had that time back .

I20 back

It will give you a pretty drive both ways.

I’ve driven it a few times.

Jake-Looks like you've got this situation under control and probably don't need any help but this pickup line flat out works!!

Just a little good natured fun! I hope you know we are all pulling for this to work out the way you want! Good-luck!

My future wife lived 30 minutes away and I used to bitch about the drives.
I’m kindly ashamed.

This all day , every day . AL to AZ is a looooooong drive! And doing it alone , hell naw. You're gonna spend 1/2 your time driving. But if you have to drive , go to Memphis on US72 , get on I40 West and keep going and going toward the sunset. Good luck , drive safe , watchout for IDOTS.

This is the route my son drove out to Phoenix with his friend to MLB spring training. With the two of them it was a heck of a drive spending the night in west Texas. They did drive back non stop the year Covid shut everything down. You are going to be tired, good luck and be safe
