I also recommend getting on a plane. That will give you at least two more days with your lady.
If you do drive, keep some food, water, and a sleeping bag in the vehicle with you. The western US is far more desolate than it is around here. Breaking down on the side of the road can leave you stranded for days.

Beat me to it. Starting a thread like this obligates him to post pics. If nothing else, at least pics documenting the trip. Mcninja will post them for you if you text them to him. Right mcninja?

You can make that drive in a day (20hrs)and be in a hotel I’d leave about 0230 and you’d be there before midnight Heck I leave Tuscaloosa and stop in Sioux Falls SD at I90 in 16 hrs
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

15-16 hours is pretty easy. It just gets old, though.

I just map quested it from Huntsville . Their shortest route shows 23 hours 50 min. 1628 miles on I40. Some of y'all say 20 hours , that's averaging 81 mph all the way. 16 hrs is averaging 101 mph . Don't think so.

Lets see.....he runs a dozer all day and no sex at the end of the day.
Runs a car day/night for potential sex with his dream girl/future wife...he can do it!!
May need to take a break on the way back though!

You wrote all of that for directions. It’s a road trip, so use google maps. However, about the relationship, good on you for following your heart. The only thing I would suggest eventhough you didn’t ask is proceed with caution.

Don't think so. deadeye said he did 16 to SD, and I'm easy with 15-16 a day going to Buffalo or Kansas or south Florida. Twenty hours wouldn't put him in Mesa but he'd probably get to Flagstaff, should he want to push it. I wouldn't. Crossing the desert at night makes a man sleepy and unawares. When I drove back, I went from Mesa to Amarillo, crashed a night, Amarillo to Tulsa to see friends at the Zebco factory, and then Tulsa to NorfBama. Three days, about 1700ish miles (thanks to Tulsa). It's doable in two days. One, IMO no. If I were Jake, though, I'd get sidetracked near El Reno eating delicious onion smashburgers and might not make it to Mesa.
