Rain is set in here and looks like it won't clear until dark. Earlier I thought it might break about 3:30 or 4pm. Not too promising, don't feel like getting wet on the way to a shooting house. Like Scarlett O'Hara said, tomorrow is another day!

I'll probably get out around 3 or so once this rain gets out and see what happens. Can't hurt

Sitting on a plot this afternoon looking for a doe. Movement on our place has been slow the last couple of weeks.

Got back in the same shooting house that we were in this morning. Saw 3 does and a 6pt this morning. Only thing so far this afternoon has been 29 turkey. They just pitched off for the night. Maybe we will get lucky here shortly.

Saw one. Kilt one! Small basket rack 8 with a larger body. Normally he’d have gotten a pass but today I was in the need of some fresh back strap. First deer that I’ve shot AND recovered on our home place. Shot a buck with my bow in Oct and just found him a few days ago so this was a much better experience!
Also got to work the dog on this. He was some kinda proud when he found that deer!

Nice afternoon in the stand. Sat in a house to stay dry. Saw 2 spikes and a doe. The 2 shooters I have on camera didn’t show today.
