We buried my wife’s grandfather, Leon, coming up on 2 years ago. I still think of him every day and miss him dearly. It’s tough. He was the same age as your dad and from a great generation of man. I enjoyed spending time with him, a lot of times it was just to listen to his old stories…Stories similar to what you shared from above.
Thanks for sharing, for a moment, I felt like I was sitting here on the farm with Leon listening to one last story.
Your dad sounded like an amazing man. Sorry for your loss.

A great tribute, well written, about your Dad. So sorry to hear of your loss. We will remember you in our prayers.
I am about to go through the very same thing with my own father. He is battling Large Diffuse B Cell Lymphoma and it now appears that he may be about to lose this battle but ultimately win it all!
It is so very hard to deal with. He is in the hospital now and I'm not sure he will ever make it away from that awful place.
I don't pray for God to remove the burden I am bearing. I just pray for strength to bear it and go on through.

So sorry to hear this today, Irish. My dad was named Jerry as well but that’s most likely where the similarities ended. They probably couldn’t have been more different but praise God they are both in the same place today! God bless you and your family during this time.
