Wix filters.
Been threads here and one other forums in the past telling of issues with Fram. They are all the same. When I worked in the field there were only 3 oil filter manufacturing companies in the world. I'm sure it hasn't changed much. I like anything besides Fram. Fram is made cheap. Like wet cardboard feeling.

The tolerances in engines have changed over the years and the viscosity of oil has too. That old 40 w that we used in clunkers back in the 60's doesn't work in these new modular engines. The oil is supposed to suspend the dirt and carry it to the filter, so it does not leave it stuck to parts inside the engine. Oil filters are much smaller than they used to be and the oil change intervals are longer nowadays because the oil doesn't create the sludge like it once did. I did auto repair for more than 50 years and most oil filter leaks were operator error. Most of the time they didn't check to see if the old gasket stayed stuck to the engine. We used whatever was available, unless the customer specified something else. Fords with Mighty filters are the only ones I saw filters explode on. Oil is the life of your engine, Keep it clean.

I used to use Purolator filters in all my vehicles. I stopped when I had a discussion with an Advance Auto guy that said they had a bunch of issues with them.
GM vehicle-AC Delco & Valvoline semi-synthetic
Hyundai-Factory Hyundai filter (there are tons of threads telling do not use aftermarket on the 3.3 motors). Full synthetic oil per mfg.
Dodge Ram 5.7-Mopar filter & semi-synthetic Valvoline.
I remember years ago when Ford came out with the 5.4 3-valve motor. After about 4-6 years, the motors were locking up left and right. I was at ADESA in Decatur trying to buy a 2008 4x4 Lariat that was hit easy in front for my personal truck. Guy beside of me blew me out of the water and I even went $500 above what I wanted to give. I aksed him later in the auction if he wanted to make a quick $200 and not even touch the truck. He gave $3500 for truck and sale fee. He told me he already had the motor sold for $4500. I was shocked. He said that people were going to quick oil changes and not using the recommended weight oil and the motors were locking up. This is the motor I had to replace. Will not buy another Ford for this reason alone I had an 04 that had 330K on the clock when I traded it in for my Dodge. Need total rebuild of the cam phasers. I said no. They gave me $2000 on paper, I was glad.
