with all this talk about what broadhead is the best is really making me wonder if people give any thought about how much kenetic energy that you are flingin at your deer,no matter what broadhead your using you have to have descent KE and a good shot placement,but if the time arises that you make a shoulder shot or anywhere that you hit thick solid bone,KE is what will get you thru it. here is a link to check your setup: i am shooting 81.01 KE

is this ok. whats the norm? i think i did it right. i have a reezen with a 29 inch draw and shoot a easton axis that is 9.5 gr/inch with a 100 grain head. i just guess my arrow to be 30 inches and i know for a fact it shoot 294 through the chrono. thanks for the link.

80.24 and I shoot rage and have blown through 4 deer this year and have no problems with the rage opening on impact.

Here is something to chew on KE is King! and recommended KE chart My set up is the small diameter heavy spined 340 axis at 28+ inches tipped with 100 grain Montecs, T3's or a 2 Blade Rage (411 grains total)...Out of 28.5 inch draw of the "Solo Cam Newton" Switchback @+/-69lbs they are flying 280 FPS. KE= @72 ft lbs

65lbs of KE on mine. 420gr arrow at 264fps. I have shot 5 deer with Rage 2 blade and passed through all.

Not sure how fast my longbow is shooting but I shoot a 502.6 gr arrow/broadhead and have had complete pass-thru shots on all 3 deer I have shot this year. (one was at 35 yards) That's good enough for me.
