Amazing morning in Macon County. Just shot my best buck ever. Hot doe along with 6 different bucks all at 0830. Pics to follow. Awesome buck!......That's like winning the doe lottery to catch one of the first ones popping out ahead of the rest

Well I got my wish and had does all over me this evening and wouldn’t you know it I missed at 75 yards in the middle of a greenfield. Or at least that’s the conclusion I’ve come to. I couldnt find a speck of blood anywhere near shot site or where I watched her go in the thicket briariest thicket you could imagine. First deer I’ve missed in roughly 25 years (still hunting) shot a truckload of shells back when I dog hunted. I’m gonna come back to camp in the morning before church and look again and shoot my rifle because I still can’t wrap my mind around how I botched that shot.
Workin for the man, huntin when I can.

Shot felt good and I know I didn't flinch. Gonna check my gun after church tomorrow before I go back in the woods. I have bumped it a couple times since I made sure it was good before season.

Back to my old ways. Missed a deer this afternoon It’s a bad feeling for sure. I don’t know if I would rather it be me or the gun really. Hopefully it was me and I haven’t been toting around a gun for 6 weeks hunting a 150ish inch buck that I would have made a bad shot on.

Just got home.
Sat all day.
Saw zero deer this morning.
Saw a small spike, 2 does and 2 weanlings this afternoon.
Super slow day for me in Fayette County.
Congrats to all those who may have slay one today!

Well I sent Stephen and Austin behind the house this afternoon after a small 8. Right at dark I heard a shot but thought it was the neighbors but it was Austin.
