I was at walkmart tonight buying some bullets for my rifles and while I was looking at them a younger kid (13-16) came up and asked the worker if he would come unlock the arrow heads lol. Well i hear them over there getting stuff and grandma and 3-4 kids from about 12-16 come back with 4-6 carbon arrows and two packs of arrow heads or broad heads. Total is around $60. I asked them if they were going to be hunting deer and they said yeah they were going to try it out lol. No field tips or practice tips or anything just ready to go . It wouldn't surprise me if they haven't even practiced and plan on going tomorrow since most kids are out of school for the holiday. I guess you have to start somewhere:)
At least they have broadheads the first tme I ever went I didn't know anything about it and had a field tip I had an old bear bow and didn't have sights or I didn't use them. probably because the draw was about 30-31" and at the time I probably needed a 27". I'm just glad I didn't see anything to shoot at. Me and my brother laughed about that one this weekend when we were telling stories about hunting.

Hell, that sounds like a lot of adults I know.

You must have been at the Hartselle Wal-Mart. I've seen that same scenario play out there several times.

Heard a guy (between 40 and 50 years old) at Wal-Mart last week ask for some 30-06 shells. The Wal-Mart guy asked "What brand?". The guy said "uh....don't matter, just 30-06 shells". So the guy got a box of 30-06 shells and two bags of Deer Corn.

No I was at Arab Walmart. I've seen similar at hartselle also. They were gettin crossbow stuff though.

Yes I have heard that. I think the exact words were " how close do you need it to hit a deer"

And the kicker is these are the same hunters who sit on the first greenfield they drive up on and end up killing a monster when the deer stopped to smell at the ground where the hunter took a piss when he got out of truck.

Exactly the kind of hunters or "shooters" I don't want to be in a hunting club with.
