I'm 2 years in with coronary artery disease. I currently have 3 stents and another 100 percent blockage that there hoping will bypass on its own. Got AFIB also and on meds for that. It's a constant struggle and I'm the 1st in my family to have heart issues of any kind. The doctors are entertaining the idea of maybe I was born with heart issues undetected in 1974. It really hurt my feelings when they gave me a 10 year life expectancy. My wife and I have adopted the idea that something was gonna kill us anyway. I agree with the above written, go to your cardiologist!
Jdkprp70. I see you are in Dekalb. I hope you are seeing a Cardiologist in either Huntsville or a Birmingham. Yes. 100% blockages can create a bypass. Those lesions are called CTO’s or chronic total occlusions. However they can be opened by an interventional Cardiologists that has been trained to do so. Feel free to PM me and maybe I can help. If you have reoccurring angina from this lesion that isn’t a great way to live. I honestly don’t know exactly how they could give you a 10 year life expectancy!?!
