Own a Polaris, have driven Polaris EV, Yamaha Viking, Kubota Diesel and Honda Pioneer. They all have pros/cons. I will agree the Kubota is slow and heavy and the one I ran was noisy as in rattles and clanks. The EV was tougher than I expected but also not as quiet as I thought it would be, mostly tire noise. No complaints from the Yamaha the short time I ran it, maybe a 6 mile round trip 3-4 times a week.

I'd seriously look at a Kawasaki if I was in the market to buy new.

I agree the Kubota is slow and heavy, and it rattles and clanks, HOWEVER, It has been super reliable and is built like a tank, I have used it for the last 4 cold mornings, if you are in a hurry it might not be for you. I personally couldn’t be happier with mine.

I have a 2016 Ranger 570 crew full size. It has not given me any problems yet. It has over 3000 miles and still cranks and runs great.

I’ve owned Polaris and Can-Am. Both are good machines, but I have been more pleased with the Can-Am. It rides better, more features, more room, less maintenance (oil changes, fluids, etc).

I had a ranger 570 prior to my Can-Am and it was a solid machine. Plenty of power, but much louder than the 900 or the 1000. Polaris are bad about eating up CV boots with normal hunting use.

As someone else already mentioned, if you are looking for an all around buggy go Can-Am or Polaris. Good ride, tough, reliable.

If you need a straight workhorse go with the Kawasaki or Kubota. But for a hunting vehicle I wouldn’t own the Kubota diesel. I’ve got a lease neighbor that has one and I can hear him coming from miles away. A Ford 7.3 diesel is quieter than a Kubota sxs.

I have a 2015 or 16 570 XP full size. I chose it because of the ride. My wife has a bad back & the ride is amazing. I did have a hard time cranking Saturday morning when it was so cold but she did crank. No complaints at all.

Wait three months after Christmas when the bills start coming in and you will find some brand new ones on the market. I won't ever buy a new one again. Let someone else knock the depreciation off it and you will be good to go!

Are the 500's as slow and as noisy as their older brothers?

I’m in no hurry. I’m going to look at a Can Am before I decide. I’ve owned a Honda. Personally, I didn’t like it. I’ve thought about a Mule or a Kubota but they are loud and ride rough. Noise level is a big deal.

The new Kawasaki mule pros are probably one of the most quiet.
Not sure where your coming from with that.

Personally, I wouldn't buy without test driving the John Deere Gator XUV 835M.

I bought mine because of my wife needing to drive it, and it's the only one she could fit (She's 4'8"), but if I had to buy a new SXS today, I would buy another Gator.

The new Kawasaki pro-fxt is a very nice machine. 3 year warranty too. It would be between Mule and Can-Am defender for me. Just don't fall into the ADM markup over msrp that many dealers are trying to put on their machines now. Priced some at Powersports of Montgomery last week they want between $3700- $4k over msrp on the defenders they had in stock. I passed.
