I had the lease set up for taking my future mother in law to get her first deer. She had to cancel because her home’s heat is messing up. So, I decided this evening would be a good time for my son to sit by himself for the first time. I walked him to the blind on the gasline and I went to climb a tree a few hundred yards away. We’re texting back and forth and had been talking about the strap on his binos breaking. Then he texts “buck” and the rest is history. So proud of him and how well he did on his own, exactly as I had instructed him. This is his first ever buck in Alabama despite hunting hard for years. Before anyone asks, I had hung a red hat in the woods so that the pile of rice bran would be easier to locate.
