My son works for a company in Texas. One of his many company "hats" is to install GPS trackers and cameras inside company owned vehicles. When you reach a certain level in that company one of the perks is you get a company truck and gas card. One of the conditions of that perk is you must obey all traffic laws. One of the company employees just lost his perk last night. When he reports to work today, he will hand over his truck keys and gas card. How he gets home is his problem.

Double whammy.
As a driver of a company truck , being on camera all the time would be an issue for me though. Although I practice not texting/ reading emails etc., we’re all human and make mistakes. What if something catches my attention beside the road like a wreck, a fight or commotion etc and it’s used against me? If they’re looking for something to use against you, they’ll find it if you’re always on camera.

I would assume that a company truck would have GPS, but if not, maybe that is why his phone is in his hand. But, I was under the impression that one isn't supposed to use a company vehicle for anything personal, which would entail taking any passengers along for the ride.

It may vary by industry - but u can use for personal - just hav to seperate biz milage from personal and some companies can track how fast u go and impose limits etc and u can take family trips etc w family friends

Some companies may be stricter and my company does not track how fast I go

Depends on the company. My company allows me to use my truck for personal reasons. I just have to report the personal miles and pay taxes on that portion. My company actually even allows spouses to drive them for personal reasons, though I’ve never let my wife drive it. I enjoy the benefit but don’t take advantage.

I'd rather drive my own truck than be on video surveillance all the time. Just my 2 cents. YMMV.

So they have someone watching all the cameras in all the vehicles 24/7? Why did they check this guys camera if they don't watch all of them?
