I’d shoot him unless I had something better I was after Ive got plenty of other deer I’d like to shoot but I always try to shoot mature deer off my property. This deer has looked the same for the past two years that I know of. Notice in the second picture he’s got half a tail. I’ve kept up with him since he was a 2 yr old and every year he’s got the same amount of points just gets a little bigger. It’s deer like this I don’t want breeding so I want to shoot him but in other clubs where you wanna kill the biggest thing you see this one would probably get a pass and keep on breeding and making other dinks

It would make no difference here at my place to me about what was on his head.

What do you consider mature? Some ppl call 3+ mature. Others 5+. Depends on your definition. That deer is minimum 4. Likely 5 or perhaps older. He likely meets your definition of mature, in which case, kapoooyaw!

One of the reasons we don’t have any age structure is because we have the philosophy that any buck that reaches 4 or 5 years old needs to die……We say that these need to die because they’re culls and these need to die because they’re trophies and the end result is that they ALL die and there’s very little true age structure…….6,7,8 year old bucks are different creatures and create different dynamics when present
