Vernon, does Jethro still have the band together? I'm sure in some form he does! But my screen name comes from another area of art: an obstinate, worried farmer in William Faulkner's novel AS I LAY DYING that I've taught to college classes many times. I'm nowhere close to the talents of a Southern farmer, but I'm plenty obstinate and worried.

I’m thinking of doing one between deer and turkey season for our little mens group at Church. Been a long time since we have done one. I’ve got some red stag, fallow, oryx, turkey, quail, dove, whitetail and easily can add fish. Doubt i do wild hog unless i shoot a really small one. Squirrel would be cool. Probably be less than 20 show up. What!!! No Axis? 🤣🤣 Didn’t shoot one this year, Marsh. Our coolers filled quick as we shot a couple big animals

I love pheasant. Only had it a few times when a buddy went to Kansas and brought me a bunch back. My wife absolutely loved it. I wish we had pheasants here because I would kill everyone on aldeer’s limit and have em in my freezer! Raise your own if you like them .They are delicious as I have both hunted them and raised them

Ya ain't never eat fried crappie? Never even the first mouthful. My grandfather loved to catch and eat them before I was born, and my son catches them now and says they’re very good. We need to do something about that.... Go ahead and give him a few gallons! I actually don't have a fillet in the freezer. Cooked what I had left from last winter today for the guys at the shop. I haven't kept any this year for myself yet, but 'Tis the season to reload. I've given fish to my fishing partner, or turned them loose every trip but one this year. Cleaned those for my parents.
