My brother in law lives about 5 min from this tract. Anyone here ever hunt it? Judging by topography I’m thinking it’s not hunted very hard…

I haven’t hunted it, had to go in there for work last year on a power line that runs through it and looks like a lot of traffic on the roads.

I've turkey hunted it a few times. Saw more hunters than I heard birds gobble. every time I pass by there in Deer season I see trucks. Would probably be good if you had a boat to access it from the river.

Would probably be good if you had a boat to access it from the river. I plan on going a couple of times via boat, but it looks like the roads get to most places on the property.

I’ve hunted it, it gets crowded. Agreed. It gets crowded. I hunted it for 3 years and saw a few does and a fewer bucks. Nothing exciting. Tough terrain and long walks. I live about 10 min from there and have no desire to go back.

It's not a long run from anywhere you put in. The boat is a big advantage at some places like Coosa, Demopolis, and Mulberry Fork. I haven't hunted Yates yet, but just about anywhere I look on the map, there's a road not too far away. What about the Coon Creek Forever Wild piece? Any deer on that side?

They road in Yates and Coon creek are poorly kelp up . Unless some thing has changed.
County used to keep Yates up pretty good before it went forever wild . Coon creek gets so bad four wheel drive can't get in or out .
Parts of Tuskegee National Park is like that. There's one road that is still under county up keep and it been closed for over a year unless it's been opened back up here lately.
The roads suck most place two trucks can't pass with out getting in the ditch

Yates ,,,,,,,,,, coon creek is less than 400 ac and bow only. Don't know about now but there was a dog club around most of it. Coon creek used to be part of the club
Yates be a good place to hunt off horse back . Lol

I have heard the fishing is better than the hunting. Know a guy who caught a 10 out of there a couple years ago.
