I’d been out-of-town for work since Monday morning, but I was able to get home at 4:10 this afternoon. I took a quick scent free shower, grabbed my bow and necessities, and headed to my Cullman County property near the house. I got in my ladder stand at 5:00 and had shot my best bow buck ever by 6:00. I think I made a good shot, but only got 10” of penetration as my arrow hit him in the back edge of the shoulder. I never heard him crash, but I think he’s gotta be dead nearby. The other younger bucks with him all came back into the foodplot within a couple of minutes. No sign of my buck, though

I ended up seeing 9 total, 6 inside bow range including 2 smaller 7 points that are safe from me. Fun afternoon in the tree.

I ended seeing 4 does a few squirrels,and a rabbit. No arras we're flung today, the critters are all safe.

Saw one small 8 point. Had him at 14 yards, hunting’s with the longbow. I let him walk.

30 yard broadside shot with a 2 blade Rage broadhead. The arrow hit the buck at the crease of the shoulder and penetrated 10”. The buck ran straight away from me and the arrow fell out about 40 yards from the shot site. The next 40 yards was very minimal blood, but got better for the next 40 yards. The buck had circled a privet bush and there’s blood on 3 sides of the bush, but we couldn’t figure out which way he’d went from there…working on lining up a dog for tomorrow ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/XSGUtAV.jpg)

No luck this morning with the dog. We never found any more blood other than what we’d found last night. I must’ve hit the buck higher than I realized or the arrow deflected off the shoulder blade and into the chest/brisket ??? Sure is a pisser!!!
