I've not lost a child to death. I temporarily lost a foster to drug addict parents until we got her back. I don't know that I could ever be more traumatized and don't want to be in your shoes, ever. Prayers lifted.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
