Crazy question, how many people operate their tractor with the loader raised up while bushhogging ? I’ve always thought you need to keep the bucket at a level below your line of sight.

Negative, especially if you are on uneven ground. You may flip. I also keep the bucket low if I’m cutting unfamiliar areas and it has kept me from hitting many stumps.

Keep it about 2 foot off the ground. I never ride with it higher than that unless I’m about to dump something. It feels unstable and unsafe when it’s up like that.

Keep mine low as well. Like jb20, in tight spots, I might raise it to get around something, but back low.

My father in law raises his bucket straight up while cutting and for the life of me I can't figure out why. I like to keep it low to knock down the grass out of the radiator and out of the way.

In a known area with no obstacles i raise it so i can see. Not concerned on flipping tractor on relatively level ground. Back tires are filled with water. 70 hp tractor

Low center of gravity is key especially when turning or on hills. I would not keep my bucket low enough to "detect" an obstacle unless I am crawling along, otherwise that bump at mowing speed could tear something up worse than the bushhog.
