What’s the avg cost per sqft now?
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

A high end brick with good cabinetry ,granite countertops , site finished hardwood , built by a good builder will be around $200 per.

Not sure but I was happy when I saw my insurance statement if coverage last week… it was lot more than before… I’d think I can get into a decent one for less than $100 if frugal and contract it out

$150 per foot for basic house is what a contractor told me last week. The sky is the limit.

Until materials come down, it’s gonna be pricey. Concrete reinforcement wire is almost 400$ at Home Depot. That’s rediculous.

I don’t see how things can come down drastically without a complete collapse of the economy. It will have to stay stagnant for a decade at least. I don’t like that scenario and I hope it doesn’t happen.

$180-230 is going to be a safe guess. If I’m building a custom I want it to be well built and nice. Not saying over the top and gaudy.
JB20…$100 per sqft in Q3/Q4 2022 is a total pipe dream unless you’re building with cardboard and zip ties.

And $225/ft does not include a lot or site prep, hooking up utilities, or driveway, etc.

When they’ll come out. There’s two meter truck company’s charging 200$ a yard that we use. Some areas are losing steam and the ready mix trucks are rolling better. I hear both sides of the conversation every where I go.

It's come down some but other stuff including labor hasn't . It was going up so much, so fast lumber stores would tell you when quoting a framing package that price is good for today , not 30 days, not a week , not tomorrow.

I asked a Baldwin County contractor 3 weeks ago. He said 190 a foot plus his 50,000 cut.

Site prep can be highly variable.
The numbers below are for a mass graded subdivision. Typically flat lot .33acre or less
$200 and up for custom home.
$150 and up for builder grade home.
This is huntsville market.

All according to where you live,it’s about $135/sq ft here but 7 years ago I built for about $80/square foot, all granite, hardwood floors, and 10ft ceilings,it’s crazy how much things have changed in just a few years
