300 BLK is a great round. Bought one a few years ago and have since killed 2 bucks that weighed 170+ both were between 100-125 yards. Both deer folded within sight. Dropped a yote at 180 last year too. all with deer season xp150 gr

…and you’re picking a good bullet, made for deer AT 300 BO speeds. It’s the gamut of not that, that folks will shoot a deer with in the BO that’s soured me on it in the past

My opinion is as follows: I don’t like short 5.56 at all. I’m not even really fond of it in a 16”+ configuration but I do hunt coyotes with one. This isn’t to say that the round with the proper bullet isn’t fully capable at reasonable ranges. It is. But it’s let me down and I’ve had close second hand experiences that gave me a poor impression of it for most game.
I have 3 300blk weapons; a 16” AR, a 9.5” AR pistol and a 16” Ruger American Ranch. They all weigh about the same plus 9oz on the end if I have a can on it. I shoot supers out of the 16” AR, and subs and supers through the other two. I rarely hunt with subs unless it’s for hogs which I shoot in the head or neck. This round has not failed me once in sub or super. My go-to supers for hunting at the Barnes Vortx 110gr. I’ve killed a few deer and a bunch of hogs with this round including two hogs over 250# at beyond 200 yards(one with my 16” AR and one with my 9.5” pistol) both DRT. No exit wounds.
The pros for 300blk are: around 30% higher kinetic energy at a given barrel length over 5.56, fires super and subsonic rounds interchangeably, somewhat less muzzle blast in short barrels and lower felt recoil. It’s also a dream if you reload.
The cons are loaded ammunition is more expensive than it should be, the best bullets are hard to find, the ammo is heavier.
If I were willing to stock another round I’d be looking hard at a 12” 6.8spc. But I also have a 16” 6.5Grendel so that would be too redundant.

Meh.just carry a bolt action deer rifle.leave the tacticool sub par hunting cartridges at home

LOL. I’ll take my SPC on any deer, any day. The HAMR and 7.62x39 are 30-30 class, easily. The legend is more than adequate, and a true 357 AR MAX can best factory 35 rem stuff. The Grendel works. 223 and blackout are just a lower end. Efficiency and bullets matter far more than headstamps. None care what they’re launched out of, and I have bolt action 223s twisted for deer.

.350 Legend. Skip the pistol crap for something to hunt with... Pistol ARs are good if you are a Tank driver or want a trunk monkey.

You'll be safe from shoulder surgery but that muzzle blast alone would make folks here go blind and deaf. Shoot yer eye out kinda stuff.

I second this, The 300 BO may have some advantage for suppressed, but the 350 is ballistically better and easier to reload.

I love 300blk, it's just plain fun to shoot. But to answer you question...get both!

Not sure what your budget is, but the Tavor 7 sounds like the perfect rifle for you.

It is heavy, but all the weight is to the rear, which makes it handle like a lightweight rifle. I saved some weight by putting a Vortex 3x micro prism on it. That optic is good enough for me out 100 yards, I am blessed with good eyesight though.

It's very compact and easy to carry through thick brush, and you still get a rifle length barrel.

Bullpups are a little cumbersomb to handle initially, but the ergonimics on the T7 are great, trigger isn't bad either. It doesn't take much practice to become proficient with.

Not sure if you have a suppressor, but that's where bullpups really shine. The chamber being right next to my face was a little unnerving at first, but the adjustable gas system makes it more pleasant to shoot than most ARs suppressed.

300blk just too expensive for high volume shooting.

You need to decide if you want something to hunt with or a "pistol" they are totally different ARs. For hunting I'd recommend a 350 legend or 458 SOCOM rifle with 16 or 18in barrel. For plinking and home defense 5.56 or BO suppressed

Handled a Tavor at the range a few weeks ago that someone brought and offered to let me shoot it. Very cool gun that balances well and very compact.

I would get a .223/5.56.

Life is too short for either/or, the answer should always be BOTH.

Andy Griffith/Heat of the Night - both
FiletMignon/Lobster tail - both
Ginger or MaryAnn - both

So much simpler this way…trust me 👌🏾

Be careful, BCLC. Some folks can’t stop with just two.

Can you imagine how many AR’s you would have with every caliber offered in that system?
