Today's route... I did my best to take some curvy backroads and see some places and ride some roads I have never ridden. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully I will be able to take some nice pictures and eat at some out of the way mom and pop places. Staying at a little Hampton Inn with my points tonight and then on to Kentucky tomorrow to mee up with some of my buddies for a Bourbon trail ride on Sunday.

I'm going to miss Mrs. Irish, but it's going to be good to get away on the bike. We had to take my Dad's car away last Friday on my Birthday and that was pretty stressful. Plus I'm managing way to many projects for one person right now and the amount of project related emails I get a day are astounding. Close to 100 a day and they all have to have some kind of response. I'm pretty overwhelmed at work.

Had a really nice dinner last night for my Birthday and to send me off given by two of our very best friends Skip and Bettina. My buddy gave me a bottle of Monkey Shoulder. Bettina made us a Pasta Puttanesca and it was delicious.

Safe travels and happy belated birthday. On a side note, one of the greatest gifts a person can receive is a good friend. It seems like you have a great gift there.....and a nice bottle of whiskey.

Man you really seem to know how to enjoy life. Not much for motorcycles, but travel, food and friends is always great. Have fun and be safe, lots of fools out on those roads.

Looks like a great trip. I see that your route avoids the bridge with the boy and a banjo. 😁

A few pics from today's travels...

Crossing the Tennessee River...

Stephenson, AL.

Apparently the Union controlled Stephenson for most of the Civil War... Not a lot going on in downtown Stephenson these days, but I imagine at one time being a major rail Crossing it was.

This must be where the liberal arts students get the full service fill up and a lube job...

Stopped here at the Homestead Museum between Crossville and Crab Orchard. I looked to be the only one who had possibly ever stopped by. There was a nice elderly lady there named Chris. She was very knowledgeable about the Roosevelt administration, the WPA and homesteads created during the great depression. Probably the closest this nation has ever been to a Communist dictatorship. We had a nice conversation about energy technology, graphene and honeycomb structures.

Not sure where these two pictures were taken, but it was some old coal town in Eastern Tennessee...

Pretty nice view from my hotel balcony in Caryville.

I grabbed a surprisingly good burger and a beer at a dive bar and grabbed a bottle of Bulleit Rye for sipping after a each day's ride.

You were getting up close to Sgt. Alvin York State Park in Pall Mall . Well worth a look if you're in the area.
