Any of yall attempted to register for the SOA hunts? I tried earlier this morning and got error messages concerning the priviledges I didn't have to register for several of the hunts?

Has anyone seen an ideal number from preference points to be drawn, or does it seem to just be completely random?

Has anyone seen an ideal number from preference points to be drawn, or does it seem to just be completely random? I've been drawn with one and been drawn with 9. The higher amount of points you have the more chances you get in the drawing but having a low number of points does not mean that you don't have a chance of drawing one.

How the heck do you submit for a draw if you have a lifetime license? My understanding is that wma permits come with the lifetime? Surely I don’t have to go purchase a new wma permit every year just to apply?

I think after this year I have 28, maybe it will work out.

The higher amount of points you have the more chances you get in the drawing but having a low number of points does not mean that you don't have a chance of drawing one. from what I have discerned in a few conversations is that there are basically two pools of drawings they pull from: 1 pool of people that has a high number of preference points, and another pool of folks who have very little. So statistically speaking, you (maybe?) more likely to get drawn with 1 or 9 preference points that you are with 3 or 5

If I read correctly, all a NR needs is the free DCNR Registration license add on. They don’t even need a license to get in the drawing. Maybe they have to purchase a wma permit as well? But a resident who has purchased a Lifetime License must purchase a $20 wma add on prior to being allowed in the drawing.

When you register all your buddies for every hunt that ends up being a ton of clicking lol I also wish you could go through and click the ones you wanted and then select them all at once. I registered for damn near every hunt at Uchee creek, Portland landing, Cedar creek, and Thigpen Hill, and Oak mountain state park. Some of the others I did not register for during the rut because I believe Would rather just hunt on my leased properties than some of the other places.
