What is the go to torque wrench for mounting scopes and torqueing down the actions screws. This would be for field and shop use.

ON THE Wheeler FAT wrench (digital) does it adjust per what you tell it or is it set to 15/25/35/45/65 in/pounds. I got a Cz 457 combo (22lr/17hmr) and I read when you change the barrel out to start the action bolts around 20in/# and shoot it, then tighten it up 2in/#'s at a time and re shoot the groups. This will make your adjust in size as you tighten the stock to find the best group. I'm thinking a good bedding job would make this null and viod but not sure about that. So I'm shopping for a torque wrench.

I didn't know they made a digital FAT wrench until now. My old school FATty works for me so I would think the digital is quality also.

I check my little Wheeler Fatty against my Snap-On and it's been good for years and years.

I have the Wheeler Fat Wrench. GoatKiller and AU338MAG are spot on--never store any torque wrench (auto, gun, etc.) if not set to zero.
I also like the I-beam type torque wrenches. Nothing to reset.

I've got a digital Wheeler Fat Wrench. It doesn't seem to be consistent to me. I don't have a way of checking it, but the feel is off.

I've been using a Weaver torque wrench for years. Use it for mounting scopes, action screws etc. No issues.

Fix it Sticks are probably the most common on competition circuits. Borka Tools kit is nice but he’s temporarily stopped making them. Wiha TorqueVario is a nice screwdriver form factor setup. I give those options because they have the range you need for typical gun stuff, as low as 15 inch lbs for scope rings (and lower for tiny screws), 40-45 for picatinny cross bolts, and 60-75 for action screws holding actions in a stock. SnapoOn doesn’t offer that range in any of its products; it takes two different ones to do 10-50 and 50-200.

I got a digital Wheeler Fat Wrench in the mail yesterday. I'll see how I like it, if it don't work out. I'll be getting the fix-it sticks but they are high priced for the kits. Maybe I'll just get the 15-60 driver and use my on bits and t-handle or screwdriver handle I already have.

Wheeler here too, not the digital one. But I eyeball the fix-it-sticks set at the gun ship every time I go in...they are definitely high priced. My problem is keeping a good full set of bits and some scopes you need the longer bits, somehow I screw the bits up or they magically disappear.
