Tropicaltidbits.com It is a site with modeling data. Yes it is long range GFS models. Yesterday it showed a well formed storm and hitting Gulf Shores on 9\3. Todays shows less formation and it going over Louisiana on 9\4. It is too far our for anything to be accurate (thats what Spann was saying). But several days of models show something forming in the southern Gulf of Mexico. I guess that makes news because nothing has formed yet this year.
I am sure something will form at some point but there is no way to know how strong it will be or in what direction it will head. The Gulf is really warm and that will allow for storm formation.
I watch the models as a hobby and because I am associated with a charity that responds to disaster locations to provide free meals. I look at the long range models to see how I need to manage my business schedule so I can take time off work to serve people in need.
