What scent prevention product has proven to be the best ???? Does anyone know. Is it dead down wind,scent killer,or scent away what does evryone think? Has there been some kinda of testing done to see which is the best???

i like the dead down wind myself but as with any of it you still have to hunt the wind

Unbiased scientific tests have concluded Hunter's Specialties Scent Away the best scent eliminating product.

That test is a couple years old and there are a lot of knew products out there now. Just saying.

DDW has worked the best for me.

I've used Scent Away products for the past several years now with great success. I wash my clothes and spray down good with it before entering the woods. I've had deer downwind of me and not get busted plenty of times, but I've also been busted a few times while using it. It's not going to totally make you scent free (can you really ever be 100% scent free...?), but I feel it does help control your scent. It's fairly cheap and works pretty good from my experience.

I just switched over to DDW last year. I really like it! I can get a 64oz jug and a 12oz field spray bottle= 76oz for $19 at my local shop. Cheaper than HS at WalMart!

I do everything I can to stay scent free shower, store my clothes in containers, spray down good and rub pine needles all over me. Hunt the wind right and still get winded sometimes. Guess that what happens when you hunt a 1500 acre pine plantation. U never know where they are gonna come from.

Had 3 come in from behind with wind in there nose and bust me. Little while later, 2.5 year old spike and another doe came from other direction, fed 10yds in front of me for 20 minutes. Its all about the wind

I like to hang my clothes in a cigar smoke filled room and douse my self in bourbon.

Yeah, I think it was Scent-A-Way that did the best in the testing.

just wondering what everyones opinion was I have alaways used hs products until this year I had a friend talk me into switching to dead down wind so far so good havent been busted! But I shower with dead down wind shampoo n use the ddw soap also before every hunt, Also do not wear hunting clothes anywhere but in the woods and change before entering the woods, spray all gear down before leaving the truck!, store clothes in carbon tote and where scentlok and hunt the right wind!

Visited a friend in Indiana this week and hunted three mornings in gusty wind.

Second morning it was swirling and whipping pretty good.

This guy has a dog and cat, and his parents have five dogs and two cats ... all but two in the house. They all smoke, too. There was no way to eliminate odor unless I undressed in the woods. I took off my bibs, sweatshirt, boots and toque in the garage (where only two dogs lived) and left them there. Wore the same pants-shirt under my bibs and sweatshirt.

Tuesday morning I had a doe under my stand close enough that I spit on her back. She never smelled me. Probably was just luck, but she came straight to the stand from about 30-plus yards away.

My pal showers each morning in Scent-A-Way, sprays down w scent spray, puts his clothes and boots in a giant bag, uses dirt scent wafers, etc.

To each his own.

Dead Down Wind is good stuff. I like the H.S. "Scent-A-Way" and their dirt wafers, too. I think Knight & Hale also made something that smelled like dirt.
