Union leadership is really good at pissing on your leg and telling you it’s raining.
A good friend of mine works there. He’s in computers and stuff which means he also sees the production rates and stuff. He tells me the mines actually have been producing more coal without the union workers than with. I worked for a mining equipment company in those mines for 8 years. I don’t doubt what he says a bit.
