I don't work in a union. My employer sold out to a large company. It's not a mom and pop company anymore. The production has went way way down. I have been there for about 13yrs. I don't see how they make money anymore. Everyone has slowed down in their work performance. The safety rules kill production due to rules laid out by insurance companies. This is a case of too big for your own good.

A good friend of mine works there. He’s in computers and stuff which means he also sees the production rates and stuff. He tells me the mines actually have been producing more coal without the union workers than with. I worked for a mining equipment company in those mines for 8 years. I don’t doubt what he says a bit.

I don’t doubt it either.

It’s always more productive to hire people who don’t get paid not to work.

Probably the ones who don’t need a union to keep a job!
