Cool collection! I’ve got a Walther p38 9mm still in box with receipt where my late FIL bought it in 1985. Got 2 mags and shoots great.

Nice group of pistols ! Now that I've completed my set of WW2 rifles except for a Carcano ( not looking real hard ) next up is a Luger , P38 & Broomhandle . Already got the 1911 . Crazily passed on a P38 & Luger within 6 months of each other a few years ago at a local shop at fair prices. I was still chasing Garands & 03's at that time . Don't regret it but finding the pistols hard to find now without breaking the bank . Prices on the WWI/II have gone stupid along with everything else. I'm sure I didn't pay more than $500 for a P38. They are easily double that now. Holsters are $300 up. Lugers have always been high. My guns aren't collector grade. I got them to shoot plus couldn't affordthe other. And thanks to everyone for the kind words. Hope you enjoy them as much as i do.

I could stare at that P08 Luger for hours. Just a cool gun.

I could stare at that P08 Luger for hours. Just a cool gun. Here go - least I can do. This is a 1937 BYF (Mauser) P08. The Germans started using production codes instead of manufacturers to slip by the post WWI restrictions on weapons production. There are dozens of manufactures codes depending on the date and type of weapon. The P38 replaced the Luger. Was much easier to manufacture plus a better and more reliable gun overall. I bought this gun from a HS teacher I worked with. His father brought it back from the war. Pure art. Just a fascinating firearm. Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) was the artist known for his paintings in the 1920s and 1930s in the Art Nouveau style. That is some cool stuff. I have a broomhandle mauser also. German made. I do not have the wooden holster for it. My grandfather brought it back from WW2. Also a French officers semi auto pistol , same source. He was in France during his war time. I do treasure them. What are the broomhandle's going for these days?
