Here go - least I can do. This is a 1937 BYF (Mauser) P08. The Germans started using production codes instead of manufacturers to slip by the post WWI restrictions on weapons production. There are dozens of manufactures codes depending on the date and type of weapon. The P38 replaced the Luger. Was much easier to manufacture plus a better and more reliable gun overall. I bought this gun from a HS teacher I worked with. His father brought it back from the war. Paid too much for it but its 95% condition, all matching parts, two magazines, and holster.
