While I agree that it is a states rights' issue, I also believe that any hope of taking the country back at mid-terms just got scuttled. I am afraid that too many people will put "women's rights" above the economy, etc.
You may also see a rise in suicide of women who feel trapped in an undesirable situation who cannot afford to travel to other more liberal states to have an abortion. The rise of "back alley" abortion providers will likely increase as well.
I would have preferred that SCOTUS not release their official position until AFTER the mid-term election when we may have been able to pick up some more conservative seats in Congress
I dont think so. Inflation is just going to keep going up and women do most of the shopping and are acutely aware of price changes. This may be in the back of their mind but they will vote with their pocketbooks come November. Just talked to one. We were complaining about the gas prices, and she is taking on a second job. So of course Biden got brought into this conversation. And her response was that he is still better than Trump. I just told her to enjoy the 4.50 gas and the time spent working two jobs and ended it there.

Putting all the reasons for abortion aside, I've never been able to figure out what the child did wrong to deserve to die. Yes, some of the pregnancies are conceived through incomprensible means, but the child had no fault in how it was conceived. If you don't want the child there are thousands of couples who would want the blessing of raising a child.
The only true innocent one in the whole argument is the one who can't speak up for themselves. Ever notice the ones who are for abortion have already been born?

Youd think the dems would be glad if they could think that far ahead. Much more minority, blue voting people will be born now. They'll just drive or fly to a state that allows it, have the procedure and return. It'll cost them a little $, but otherwise, it changes nothing.

When one of the justices comes out and says now is time to revisit gay marriage and birth control pills. Pretty sure folks are gonna be riled up for a few months. This decision will bring out the blue voters in hoards. and will tip many swing voters to the blue side.

I think your wrong, I'm pretty sure it'll stop a lot from people that don't have money to travel...and as said in another post when people can't buy groceries abortion rights will be at the bottom of their list come voting time
