I thought the drive up to Black Hawk from Denver was interesting, its not far out of town and some really nice mountain scenery. My wife is from Colorado, so she loves driving those switchbacks much faster than me, scared the hell out of me. Black Hawk/Central City looks like if Disney designed a casino town. Someone else mentioned Buckhorn Exchange in Denver, they had a pretty diverse menu of game to try, and the upstairs bar area was a cool place to hang out and have cocktail before dinner with lots of interesting things to look at.
