Pikes Peak is fairly close. It's a shame they closed the Cog Train from Manitou Springs up to the summit. The cog train ride was one of the coolest things my family ever did. When we went up on Pikes Peak , it was mid July and it was 32 degrees and there was still a little snow on the ground.

Take a drive to Buena Vista and ride down 24 and 285, Goes down the valley below Mt. Elbert and Mt. Harvard . Looking up at those make you feel real small.

Cool! It was bout 20 years ago when we rode it. Saw some Rocky Mt. Big Horn and other critters . 7X57 should check it out.
