I shot this doe yesterday evening around 5:30. She quartered to me right as I shot (16 yd shot) I hit her about 3 inches behind the shoulder, and I assume the arrow came out far back. I trailed good blood until 9:00 last night until she crossed a road for the 2nd time. I marked a tree with toilet paper and decided to go back this afternoon and look. What was left of her was lying 15 yards from where I quit trailing last night  !! At least the coyotes ate good!!

Those Yotes make quick work with a good fat butterball doe!. Congrats!, sort of I guess. I know its bitter sweet. You found your kill but don't get the reward of the meat! Go do it again this week and bring home the backstraps!

That sucks, the first buck I killed with my bow ended up the same way as yours, left him over night found him the next morning like that. Hell they even chewed the velvet off his horns.

Met a farmer out in TX several years back do the same thing except with deceased cattle. He would drag the carcass about 100yds out in an open field behind his house and shoot coyotes off it for days. Just leave the dead yotes where they fell. Hell, the new yotes would eat on the cow AND the dead yotes. He said he killed 16 or 17 off one cow before they finally got all of it. We ran across a dead cow out on the ranch one time and in a matter of two nights the yotes had eaten it all the way down to just bones.
