He's still over there gobbling and I made it about 50 yards into the thicket on a pig trail and had to back out. I'm on too many blood thinners for that many briars.
Sucks too. He's the best gobbling bird I've heard all year.
Now is one of those rare times when you need some late season excited cackling. It's a long shot, but worth a try if you are still there. Good luck!
