I have and never will again. I shot a 7pt at 12 yards, he was quartering away, and the arrow lodged in his opposite shoulder. I guess because there was no exit and the entry was blocked by the shaft there was hardly any blood. I was shooting a 70lb bowtech patriot with an easton axis arrow, about 380gr. I made a great shot and know that if I had shot him with any of my proven fixed blades I would have found him without any trouble. [/b]
All right thats two actual shoulder blade shots. One turns out good , the other not good. Who else?
I have too. I shot this doe in Missouri last month; 20 yard broadside shot, but her vitals were behind a 6" sapling. I'd beeen drawn on her FOREVER and had to do something quick! I put my pin as close to her shoulder as I could (without trying to hit the shoulder). It was not a pass-thru shot, but we picked up blood just a few feet from the place of the shot. We tracked a pretty steady bloodtrail for 250ish yards and there she was. Turns out that I'd hit her right in the shoulder, but it angled back and went through her heart. She broke my arrow off, and my broadhead was right underneath the skin. Here ya go:
