At least for the Russians in the tanks it's probably a pretty quick and painless death.

Even pretty conservative estimates are putting Russian tank losses as high as 600. That's 3 tank crew dead for each one. That's 1800 trained and experienced tankers. How are the Russians going to replace them and more importantly get "volunteers" to man rolling death coffins.

Being a Russian tanker over there would be like being a U-Boat submariner in the latter stages of WWII. You are a walking dead man.
