I have custody of my children. It was not an easy or inexpensive process. It's more like he who has the most $ might win.

So if you want to duke it out, be prepared for what I am about to say to you. This is a BUSINESS transaction. Play to win!!! Get the best deal for you upfront, because going back to change something takes FOREVER, and if its pissing you off while it takes forever, that will ruin your quality of life. Do not say anything negative about your spouse, their attorney, or the court on social media. If you need someone to talk to, hire a therapist. Do not put anything out there written or electronic that can be subpoena'd. Document everything you do and your spouse does or doesn't do. He who has the best documentation has leverage. Do not ever use the kid(s) as leverage. Do not ever say anything bad about your soon to be ex in front of them or where they can hear you. Don't call your soon to be ex and yell or cuss. Stick to what is easy, a text or email.

The lawyers are all buddies. The judges don't care about you or your case, you are one of to many cases they will see in a year. A woman has to be turning tricks in front of the kids, or using (dealing) drugs, or completely unfit in some other way to lose custody. And courts like week on week off custody. I refused to agree with that.

I only know of 2 other guys who got custody of their kids. One of my other friends tried, and believe me his wife was having an affair and just generally being a stone cold you know what, multiple lies in court, and she still got custody of their daughter. There is rarely justice in domestic relations court.

It cost me about $35K in legal fees to get custody. And about 9 months to get her to settle.

Good luck.
