I keep all my beards/spurs like this, with the info about where the bird was killed etc. on the shotgun hull.




However, glueing a multi-beard in the hull isn't ideal or a great way to display it. Any ideas?

I do the same with mine. I killed one with 5 beards, and I cut a small tree (pencil size) with a limb that was about the same size and close to 90deg. I used braided line to attach the beards/skin to the trunk of the little tree, and applied borax till dried. Then I glued the end of the limb in the brass. If you want to pm your number I’ll send you a picture later.

I throw them in the pile with the rest of them.

Same here - put all mine in boxes and put in outside storage aNd put fans of rios and meriams out there w bunch eastern fans from diff states. Few years back I had went into storage and a rat or bug had destroyed fans - I had cured them w salt - imagine beards same way 😀

I got a few really nice turkeys mounts in the house - I want one more to hang up stuffed in office

My 2 bearded and 4 bearded turkeys I killed were in some of those boxes that prob destroyed 😀

I have done this with my 2 multi beards. I just slit the hull and hot glued it in.

Thanks TurkeyJoe and Matt. You other fools must kill too many to worry with. I cherish each and every one and the momentos of the hunt mean too much to be neglected.

Little advice ,,,,,, do not just put them in a box in a pile . That is a bad bad mistake . I did that , four cigar boxes slam full . I have none know , bugs cut them and the spurs to dust .
