A 17 model should be R134 in a Silverado. Check the A/C decal under the hood to verify. Any O'rielly's or Auto zone should have the O- rings. 17 could have come with either. Lucky people got the 134a . 134a is about $11 a pound and 1234yf is about $68 a pound. When it first came out a 20 pound canister to fill our machine was well over 1k And yes, thee was a transition period there.
