Is it just me or is it common to pull a tick off and the place it bit you still welps up and itches weeks and weeks later....I pulled 3 small ones off of me several weeks ago and those places just keep itching and swelling up....Hate them things... Anyone else have this problem with tick bites, is it common for that to happen...Is there anything I can put on the sores to make it stop? Thanks...

You might want to go get it checked out, especially if you develop the bullseye rash around where it bit you.

Yes l. I try to put Vaseline on them rather than pull them out.
Blue star is what I normally put on the bite if it itches.

If it's happening weeks later, probably should go get checked.
I'm typically not a "run to the doctor for anything" guy but for ticks, weeks later, I would be.

I got 2 spots that still have itchy bumps where I pulled 2 off over a month ago. The itching is just now starting to cease, so to answer your question yes me too. No other symptoms but had me worried as well.

I was like that and finally went to the Doc with one. He got a magnifying lens and poked and prodded and said that it still had some of the head in it even though I was careful and thought I got it all. It was just like you described. He cleaned it and picked it out and sent me on with a big antibiotic and it was fine in a few days. It pays for us to have an outdoorsman as a doctor.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I’ve had RMSF and Lyme, to say I hate ticks is an understatement.
I got lucky with my Lyme and they caught it early. I was still on antibiotics for 6 months.
RMSF I had for a year before I finally went to the doctor. I never felt terrible until I actually started taking the medicine to get rid of it. That doxycycline is hell

Mouth parts are still in your skin and you are reacting to them. That makes sense cause I got them out with the heads still on them...I'll scrub the sores off again and alcohol them up...I did have a Dr. tell me several yrs ago that if you get bit by a tick with Lyme Disease you'll get it no matter if you get the head out or not idk.....Thanks for all the replies...

There is a disease that come with a tick bite that if you eat anything from a mamal, it caused heart palpitations, high blood pressure etc. A good friend of mine has it and Brae on this board has it. Some serious bad juju.

Are the tick keys effective at getting everything out when the tick is removed? Never tried one but was curious.

I had that happen last year. Had one get in a well, shall we say, a delicate area. I pulled it off and the next day I had a 4 inch rash. I called a doc and he told me it was most likely a reaction to the saliva and not Lyme. He told me to pick up some stuff at the herb shop and take it. I did and it went away. Never felt any other symptoms. I'll check to see what it was and how much to take.

There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??
