I would have thought one of them would have completely destroyed a Japanese mini-truck, but it really didn't look like it did that much damage. I wasn't all that impressed with the Switchblade. Maybe more for a machine gun emplacement? Plus it was clear that a lot of those videos were promotional computer animations. It also appeared that the munitions exploded slightly before impact on some of the targets, maybe they have proximity fuses?
They make two sizes of those Switchblade drones, the 300 and the 600. The smaller one would be for hitting people or unprotected weapons like mortars or machine guns. The 600 is for vehicles. The benefit of the 600 size would be cost. A Javelin missle costs over 100,000 dollars apiece. You want to save those expensive sob's for high priority targets like a tank. These Switchblade 600 drones cost way less and would be perfect for attacking trucks and other more lightly armored vehicles.
Yeah... I realize they have two different sizes. I've read all about them. I guess I was thinking that the Switchblade 600 was going to be more like the Javelin in it's destructive capability. Maybe the video only showed the Switchblade 300?
