I would have thought one of them would have completely destroyed a Japanese mini-truck, but it really didn't look like it did that much damage. I wasn't all that impressed with the Switchblade. Maybe more for a machine gun emplacement? Plus it was clear that a lot of those videos were promotional computer animations. It also appeared that the munitions exploded slightly before impact on some of the targets, maybe they have proximity fuses?

The benefit is increased line of sight. Which improves accuracy and efficiency with mortars and artillery. I think the range and run time is more than what is represented. I imagine they would be perfect for CUAS (counter-drone) I think the big one has the same warhead as a Javalin. And some Friday artillery footage from UA https://twitter.com/Blue_Sauron/status/1512413971193778181heres another switchblade video that better explains its capabilities [video:youtube] https://youtu.be/kqBy0GZu0vU[/video]

The smaller one would be for hitting people or unprotected weapons like mortars or machine guns. The 600 is for vehicles. The benefit of the 600 size would be cost. A Javelin missle costs over 100,000 dollars apiece. You want to save those expensive sob's for high priority targets like a tank. These Switchblade 600 drones cost way less and would be perfect for attacking trucks and other more lightly armored vehicles.

I've read all about them. I guess I was thinking that the Switchblade 600 was going to be more like the Javelin in it's destructive capability. Maybe the video only showed the Switchblade 300?

Looks like after sifting through the propaganda on both sides that the Ukrainians have done it again and seriously damaged Russia's Flagship Missile Cruiser. Sources are saying that the shore to ship missiles launched by Ukraine have detonated the ammunition stores on board the ship and done irreparable damage. If this is true, it would be another big win for UA. Link to Story...The very fact that the Russians are admitting damage either means that: A. The ship as been hit by Ukrainian shore to ship missiles. B. Once again the Russian military is inept and allowed their ship to catch on fire so badly that the entire crew had to abandon ship. The crew doesn't abandon ship unless it is really really bad. Like sinking the ship bad.

Bad look for the ruskies, but doesn't change the fact that they're fixing to march westward from the dombas region. Men and materials don't mean anything to putin.

Russia still has submarines with nukes moving around out there. Knocking out one ship is a good success for Ukraine but it is only a minor dent for Russia.

But when your whole country is being devastated by a bunch of Orcs, a win is a win. I believe it is in everyone's best interest to make this war in Ukraine as painful for Russia as possible and make them think twice before they invade a country like Poland, Lithuania, Estonia or Latvia, who are all in NATO.

This is on my mind Does Russia have a volunteer military or do they draft or is military service mandatory ? If they keep losing men and equipment they’re gonna need a lot of both if they continue

Or those fighting for their lives and country as Russia is painfully finding out. I agree with Irish, this needs to be made so painful to Russia that they never think about invading another country. Make it so that they have to spend all their money eating and not building an army.

Like Skinny says... They have a volunteer military (Some of the volunteering might be forced, but we don't know.) The Conscripts serve for 1 year, which seems like a really short time to actually learn anything about fighting or serving in a support role.

This is a terrible tragedy of one mans ego. He’s finding out he’s not as big of a deal as he thought. The Russians will lose there no doubt. The photos I have seen from there are terrible. But that’s war, but not the same war we have known since WW2. I don’t want to just post pictures without permission.
