Used to stop there all the time going to work the drop zone in Autuagaville. I never had a complaint about it. It was definitely different but I liked it.

My first time was at the original Dreamland and Big John was still at the pit. After one bite I was in heaven. Ate two whole slabs by myself that night.

None of the franchise locations have had the same quality or atmosphere as the original.

I have eaten at the one down by UAB and it was way better. Nice tender and juicy. My first accounting job was with a manufacturing company that had a plant in fairfield. They used to have a BBQ out there, and OMG it was awesome.

I have the same issue with wings from Baumhowers. They overcook them too.

I use a recipe I had for cooking KCBS competitions. It was my β€œbase” recipe and was adjusted depending on the flavor profile I wanted to achieve.’I came up with a few unique flavors at different times that worked well for the judges but also a couple that bombed. I like a vinegar sauce but you better not serve one up to a KCBS judge. Worst scores I ever got. There is no single sauce that is perfect for everything.

Store bought, I prefer Stubbs or Rendevous (sp?) out of Memphis

Lately, I’ve been getting plain ole Sweet Baby Rays, and adding harissa and apple cider vinegar. Good sweet heat with some tang.
