Jets are a totally different game from a helicopter though. Still need jets to fight jets. Or am I wrong? "I also believe that to a certain degree aircraft and ships of certain types are also going to become obsolete..." So yeah... I agree. Fighter Jets will still be needed, but are evolving at a really fast rate right now. I think with this latest round of advanced fighters, we may have seen the last totally new manned fighters, and from now on we will begin developing autonomous and/or semi-autonomous unmanned fighters.

Apparently the Ukrainians are taking the fight to Russia now. I think the day before yesterday they were shelling and/or bombing some Russian towns and now today they have hit a fuel depot in Russia. Things getting even more Interesting...

SAM missiles are pretty effective against most aircraft. Ukraine has been asking for and are getting more of them. The real problem Ukraine is having are the Russian cruise missiles which unless you have a Patriot style defense system there isn't much you can do to stop them.

Plausable, but I will add that the peace deal will allow Putin to keep some areas that he now controls so that he can claim that he was just trying to save the citizens of those regions from atrocities at the hands of the Ukrainians. Possibly as far east as the Dnieper river. There will never be any peace deal whereby Russia is allowed to keep one inch of Ukrainian land — except for possibly the DPR/LPR statelets as they existed before February 24. Crimea is the wild card. ********** All the folks who were pro Russia sycophants before the war can ESAD. Ditto the ones after the war started.
